OUR PRE-LAW PREPARATION PROGRAM
Welcome to Law School
In partnership with the American Bar Association.
Students face a unique set of challenges as they transition from their undergrad experience and dive into the rigors of law school. They are expected to have the necessary skill set to bridge the gap from LSAT to Pre-Law to 1L studies, but in reality, we know many students feel ill-equipped to make the jump.
In order to support students through this daunting transition, we are proud to partner with the American Bar Association (ABA) to offer a never-before-seen course: Welcome to Law School.
Your Students Will Learn:
- How to read and think like a lawyer
- Memorization techniques
- Time management skills
- Tips to manage stress

ABA President
The first weeks of law school can be challenging, and very different from the undergraduate experience. That’s why the ABA partnered with Kaplan to launch the new Welcome to Law School course. At the ABA, we’re dedicated to helping law students and young lawyers excel, academically and professionally. This course is designed to help incoming 1Ls be more prepared for the challenges of law school.
Tammi Rice
Vice President of Kaplan’s Law and Government Division
We know that this admissions cycle has been one like no other, with so many students’ plans interrupted by the pandemic. One of the purposes of this program is to help incoming 1Ls effectively manage their stress levels, to recognize their internal dialogue and to not catastrophize. This course will help keep incoming law school students focused on what will help them succeed in their first year of law school.
